Twenty children and six adults are dead after a young man gunned an elementary school in Connecticut. This is different from the other shootings that have transpired this year as the victims were primarily children.

I don’t think anything quite like this has happened before in this country; it reminds me of that 2004 attack on a Russian school by Chechen terrorists.

The gunman, like the ones in Portland and Aurora, Colorado, was probably one of those “quiet, nice guys” with nothing going for him who shocked everyone he knew by blowing up at innocent people who had nothing whatever to do with his own failures as a person.

I just don’t understand how somebody can do such a thing. Among the victims, was the shooter’s mother. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families.

I’m deeply saddened.
