Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know that the Supreme Court ruled in Fisher vs. University of Texas II that affirmative action will remain a key policy in universities across the country.

This means that women and minorities remain protected groups as far as the admissions process goes and get special consideration when applying to schools. So again, who’s got a problem with that?

The conservatives, the Republicans.

And again, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that American conservatives are mostly white, more middle aged, and more male than the general population. Conservatives seem to think affirmative action means the sky will fall should it remain an official policy for the time being. This has been a talking point since its advent in the early 1970’s. According to its opponents, affirmative action amounts to systemic racism in disfavor of white males. AA…
